Chocolate with chocolate chips with just a touch of cinnamon, make this double chocolate banana bread amazing.  The sour cream makes it nice and moist.  I had some dark bananas and I knew that this was just the recipe to use up those bananas.  If you have some darker bananas, this is a great way for you to use them up.  I used to put them in the freezer and save them until one day I was looking in the freezer and one of those frozen bananas, fell out and landed on my toe!  So I decided to either use those brown bananas up or throw them out!  Otherwise they might come back to bite you or smash your toe.  This is a bread that you can make ahead and freeze.  Make some today for Super-Bowl Sunday!

Ingredients
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1½ tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa
  • 1½ cups flour
  • 1 cup mashed bananas
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ⅓ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup walnuts (optional)
Instructions
  1. Cream butter and sugar together. Beat until fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla and mix again.
  3. Add soda, salt, cinnamon, cocoa, and flour, mixing as you add the dry ingredients.
  4. Stir in bananas, sour cream, chocolate chips and walnuts, and mix.
  5. Spoon batter into 2 - 9" X 5" loaf pans that have been lightly greased.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.
